Although in the historic inner city of Leiden the number of cars is kept down to a minimum it is very well possible to approach the city by car. The city centre is lined with parking lots and stations. The driver is referred to these venues by means of the PRIS-system, the Parking Route Information System, which supplies information on the availability of parking spots. Signs along the roads provide this dynamic information.
Also, the biggest parking lot in Leiden, the Haagweg Parkeerterrein, offers a bus service to the city centre, both during the day and the evening.
