Architecture.... Waag (Weighing House)
The foremost part of this building is the actual Weighing House; further to the back the Boterhal (Butter Hall) is found. Originally this space was not roofed over and accessible through a gate in the Mandemakerssteeg. Over this gate a relief is placed which shows the work at the Butter Hall. The Weighing House is completely built out of brick, but the facade and the first floor are covered with natural stone.
The building was designed by Pieter Post in 1657, who also built the Weighing House in Gouda, while the big relief at the front side was made by Rombout Verhulst.
