Herman Boerhaave.... Rapenburg 31

his is where Boerhaave spent the final years of his life. In 1727 he got a high fever and people feared for his life. For a while he was so weakened by the illness that he couldn't teach. From then on he took it easier and taught mostly privately to students who visited him at home at the Rapenburg. In this house he died at the age of 69. His only daughter Johanna Maria inherited the house.
