Rembrandt.... Latin School

ere Rembrandt was taught the Classics. In 1620 he was enrolled at the university. It is not certain whether he did this himself or whether the headmaster of the Latin School was responsible. Anyway, it was an advanced enrollment, because Rembrandt was 14 years old at the time, while the regular age for a freshman at that time was 17 or 18. An early enrollment was not unusual, but Rembrandt never attended any lectures; his passion for painting even led him to leaving the Latin School early.
